Dale Keith Patterson, 78, of Rostraver Township, died Friday, July 30, 2021, after succumbing to the effects of ALS. Born in North Charleroi on March 26, 1943, he was the son of the late Thomas G. Sr. and Inez Witherspoon Patterson. Dale was a school teacher and taught in the Belle Vernon Area School District for 33 years. He was a very active member of Fells United Methodist Church, where he served as trustee, sang in the choir and was chairman of the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee. He was an officer in the BVA Federal Credit Union, and after his retirement from BVA, he served on the BVA school board. He was also a member of Tri-County Lodge F&AM No. 252. Dale enjoyed fishing and traveling, especially to Disney and Las Vegas. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Linda Lillian Little Patterson; son, Justin K. (Casey Witt-Patterson) Patterson of Aspinwall; daughter, Lindale Ann (Michael) DeBone of Rostraver; grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth DeBone, Emma Inez DeBone, Maddox Sidney Patterson and Sawyer Bennett Patterson; sister, Joyce Patterson Smith of Rostraver; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas “Bucky” Patterson Jr. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  Monday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com.Family and friends are asked to meet at Fells United Methodist Church, 1268 Fells Church Road, Rostraver, at 11 a.m. Tuesday for a funeral service with the Rev. Zack Bohinski and the Rev. Beverly Gross co-officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to The ALS Foundation, Western PA Chapter, 416 Lincoln Ave., Millvale, PA 15209, www.als.org/western-pennsylvania. Please respect the family’s request to wear a mask if you are not vaccinated.
