The surging Mitch’s Bail Bonds Magicians continued to work their playoff magic in the first game of the Fayette County League best-of-five championship series.

In the process they made history in the weirdest fashion in a 9-6 win over host Masontown.

The history came with the victory as it was the Magicians’ first-ever win at Masontown, where they we beaten in 10-run fashion twice in the regular season.

The weird?

Well, it was how they produced nine runs.

Mitch’s scored four runs in the third inning and five more in the fifth. In the two outbursts, the winners combined for just three hits – none in the fifth.

“It was a wacky kind of win, for sure,” said Mitch’s manager Ryan Encapera. “I can’t recall us doing that before. It seems like we’ve been the victim of those kind of innings, but never on the plus side, that’s for sure.”
