There have been many players thus far this MVISBL season who have been impressive on the floor. Perhaps the most impressive performance came on Thursday from Elite Physical Therapy’s Makhai Valentine.
Valentine lit up the scoreboard and Farmers Insurance for 47 points and grabbed 23 rebounds as EPT got back into a first place tie with BeeGraphix thanks to an 85-69 victory.
Both Elite Physical Therapy (5-3) and Farmers Insurance (3-5) had to play Thursday night’s game without a couple key players. Elite was down Bryce and Cameron Epps while Farmers was missing Devin Whitlock and Daniel Gordon.
Valentine took it upon himself to fill the void. The rising junior from Steel Valley scored 14 points during a key 21-10 stretch of the second half in which Elite Physical Therapy’s lead grew from three points to 14.
“I told (Valentine) before the game that I was going to need him to take control and give me all he could,” Elite assistant Ayden Sloss said. “He got me 47 and 23, crazy.”
