Cedarbrook used a hot start to overpower State Farm and move to 5-0 with a 63-28 victory at Court Time in the second game of Friday night’s trifecta.
Cedarbrook opened the game on a 16-0 run and forced 11 turnovers in the same stretch to establish themselves in the opening five minutes.
Alyssa Clutter, a rising senior at Trinity, scored 9 of the first 16 points en route to a 21-point, eight-rebound night for Cedarbrook.
“Alyssa’s always the general,” said head coach Mariah Ward. “She leads the troops.”
Carlynton senior Katie Hoff put in 13 points and grabbed 11 boards for the double-double, helping Cedarbrook stay unbeaten in the first half of the summer basketball league season.
Cedarbrook followed its 16-0 start with another 15-point run to take a commanding 31-2 lead. State Farm hit its first field goal with 3:30 remaining in the first half on a bucket by South Fayette sophomore Erica Hall.
Nothing much changed in the second half and Cedarbrook ran away with the win. State Farm committed 21 turnovers in the loss.
