Homecoming in Donora

Earlier this year, because of the uncertainty of COVID-19 regulations, Larry Price was forced to cancel his biannual Ringgold, Donora, Monongahela Mon Valley Catholic Reunion.
However, the Donora native, now a successful businessman in California, was not deterred.
Price held his Donora Community Barbecue Saturday at Palmer Park.
The event drew close to 500 people, some coming from as far away as Hawaii, California, Wisconsin and Texas to see old friends.
“We usually do the reunion one year and the barbecue the next. We alternate them,” Price said. “Since I had to cancel the reunion because of COVID and then things seemed to open up, we had the barbecue this year. But don’t worry; the reunion will be back next year for sure.”
Even Price was taken aback by the huge turnout, saying he expected between 300 and 400 people to show up at the all-afternoon affair.
“I’m thrilled with the number of people who are here,” he said, looking around. “People have been coming and going and coming.
“This is very special for me to be able to do this. It’s important to the community. It gets people of different colors, ages, financial situations together for a good time. This is really what it’s all about.”
