The second week of play in the Mon Valley Independent Summer Basketball League’s boys division got underway Tuesday with an instant classic.

Behind 22 points from Rodney Gallagher and five threes from Christopher Barrish, BeeGraphix outlasted Howard Hanna Wilson Baum, 69-66, at Marx’s Court Time Sports Center.

Keondre DeShields led all scorers with 24 points for Howard Hanna and grabbed 10 rebounds.

For most of the game, BeeGraphix was able to get out to a double digit lead only to watch Howard Hanna battle back.

Wilson Baum had the game within a single possession late but DeShields missed a tying 3-pointer with 19.1 seconds remaining and Jayden Davis missed a desperation three at the buzzer off an inbounds play.

“A lot of times we got a defensive stop and gave up an offensive rebound and a putback,” Howard Hanna coach Matt Rowland said. “We had two or three shots at the end to tie it. We fought hard.”
