Jean Gansler – Charleroi

Jean Gansler, 96, of Charleroi, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021, in the Townview Health Center in Canonsburg. She was born July 14, 1924, in Charleroi, the daughter of the late Robert and Edna Reilley Jack. Jean was a member of First Christian Church in Charleroi. She retired from Bell Telephone Co. with 19 years of service. Jean also was a school crossing guard for the Charleroi Area School District. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Lou McGavitt and husband Ed of Charleroi; two grandchildren, Zachery Robert McGavitt and wife Katie and Brittany Jean Sumpman and husband Robert; four great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Jack Louis McGavitt and Trista and Kolby Sumpman. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Edward Gansler; a son, Jack Gansler; and her sister, Doris Salisbury. Friends will be received from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC.,  226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Charles Cochran officiating. Interment will be in Monongahela Cemetery.
