Rostraver Twp. mulls limits to on-street parking

The Rostraver Township Commissioners are considering on-street parking restrictions.

On-street parking may be eliminated for Beazell Drive near James Drive, as well as parking on Municipal Drive.

Beazell Drive is 16 feet wide with a narrow berm, while Municipal Drive is wider at 24 feet, but is heavily traveled.

Commission President John Lorenzo said the situation on Beazell Drive has created a safety hazard.

“The residents over there can’t get through to their own homes,” he said. “The police have been called out there multiple times.”

Another troublesome area is German Street in Collinsburg.

“We have problems throughout the whole township with vehicles parking on the road,” said Commissioner Devin DeRienzo. “When I really see it is how hard it is when we take Santa around (on the fire truck.)”
