After opening the Mon Valley Independent Summer Basketball League season with a 20-point loss, Edward Jones coach Larry Cash was looking for answers.

He may have found the answer on Wednesday as Belle Vernon Area’s Viva Kreis made her season debut.

Kreis led all scorers with 19 points and added seven rebounds and six assists in her season debut as Edward Jones dominated Lee Supply, 78-54, at Marx’s Court Time Sports Center.

Avana Sayles (Peters Township) tallied 16 points and Kreis’ Leopards teammate Presleigh Colditz added 13, with three treys.

Edward Jones (1-1) struggled getting their offense flowing on Monday, but that was not the case Wednesday.

“We have a point guard now and she makes a big difference,” Cash said. “She’s our coach on the floor. I thought she made great decisions and that’s what we need.”
