Barbara D. Polaski, 67, of New Eagle, died Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in UPMC Heritage Place, Pittsburgh. Born Dec. 25, 1953 in Speers, she was the daughter of the late Duchan Sr. and Mary Stankiewicz Besedick. A homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family, Barb was a 1971 graduate of Charleroi High School. A member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela, she was always known for her caring way and volunteered her time at the American Red Cross, the United Way and the Washington County Food Bank. Surviving are her husband, Christopher “Fred” Polaski, who she married Oct. 18, 2003; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Breanne Hecklick of Rostraver Township and William and Katie Hecklick of Ben Avon; a brother and sister-in-law, Duchan Jr. and Charlene Besedick of Fairfield, Ohio; two grandchildren, Bryce and Brielle Hecklick; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Janice Besedick of La Crescenta, Calif., Anthony (Vicki) Polaski of New Eagle, David (Billie Jo) Polaski of Monongahela, Barbara (Charles) Salvitti of Mohnton, Pa. and Beth (Mike) Tesznar of Monessen. She was preceded in death her by her brother, Robert Besedick. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2021, at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, where blessing prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 3, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Andrew Apostle Parish, starting at 10 a.m. with Father Kevin Dominik as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. Condolences can be made in her name at marshallmarrafuneralhome.com.
