Jean Ferreri, 94, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. A daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Ferrari Vaccaro, she was born in North Charleroi on Nov. 23, 1926. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, she was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. Jean had been employed as a school crossing guard for Belle Vernon in the 1970s. She was an excellent cook and an avid reader. Jean is survived by a son, Joseph Ferreri of California, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynda Jean Ferreri Overking and Patrick Overking of Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Zachary Overking of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., and Joshua (Nikki) Overking of Morgantown, W.Va.; and three great-granddaughters, Ivy, Olivia and Zoe Overking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ferreri, on Oct. 18, 2013; a sister, Rose Soroka; and a brother, Vic Vaccaro. Visitation will be private for the family. A public funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021, at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with Father Michael Crookston as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
