Virginia Lee Legler – Monongahela

By obits

Virginia Lee Legler, 73, of Monongahela, died Thurs-day, May 20, 2021, in Concordia Hospice of Washington, Donnell House, with her husband at her side. She was born Aug. 25, 1947, in Washington, Pa., a daughter of W. Doyle and Wilda McCarl Sickles. Mrs. Legler was a 1965 graduate of Chartiers Houston High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Duquesne University and her masters in nursing from University of Pennsylvania in 1982. Virginia had worked as a nurse practitioner for the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Aspinwall, retiring in March of 2015, following 30 years of service. She loved traveling, lavender and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her sense of humor was endearing and she smiled at every challenge. She will be missed by friends and family who looked to her to be the life of the party. On Aug. 24, 1996, she married William H. Legler, who survives. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and in-laws. Deceased are three brothers, James, Halden and Alan Sickles; and a sister, Elizabeth Paris. Virginia will be sadly missed by her dogs, Sadie and Miller. Services were previously held and interment followed in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.
