Duane D. Patterson, 83, of Monongahela, died Saturday, June 12, 2021, in his home. He was born June 4, 1938, in New Eagle, a son of the late Raymond and Dor-othy M. Kennedy Patterson. Duane was a graduate of Monongahela High School, Class of 1956, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Monongahela, where he served as a junior and then a senior warden, was on the vestry and ran the annual fish fry. Duane retired from Pennsylvania American Water Company and was a former member of the Monongahela Area Historical Society. For 30 years, he was very active with Tri-Community Ambulance, where he volunteered his time as an EMT, drove the ambulance and organized their functions. Duane had a passion for fishing and loved teaching his nieces and nephews how to fish. He also loved good food and was always the first in line at a buffet! He is survived by his wife, Sandra Lockoski Patterson, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage on Nov. 22, 2020; a son, Donald Patterson of Monongahela; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dale, William and Raymond Patterson; and two sisters, Cheryl Fedrick and Lois Fonzi. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021, in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Charles Schaller officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
