Dakota Richard Johnston — Donora

By obits

Dakota Richard Johnston, 26, of Donora, returned home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2021. Dakota was born Nov. 29, 1994, to parents Wilbur Lee Larkin and the late Tracey Johnston. He graduated from Ringgold Senior High School in 2013. Dakota was an extremely loving and caring person who loved to be surrounded by his family and friends, especially his son, Theo, whom he adored. Dakota was a hard-working young man, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Unfortunately, his life was cut much too short, and he was unable to reap the rewards of the seeds he had sown. His absence will leave a wrenching hole in the hearts of those who knew him and the community as a whole. Dakota is preceded in death by his grandmother, Vicki Johnston; mother, Tracey Johnston; and brother, Wilbur “Tazz” Larkin. He is survived by his son, Theo Johnston; father, Wilbur Lee Larkin Sr. of Donora; sisters, Sheila Johnston of Donora and Tracey Rutland of Uniontown; and Nathaniel Johnston, Tyler Johnston, Destiny Johnston, Justice Johnston and Diamond Johnston, all of West Newton. Dakota is also survived by his longtime companion, Tonia Gaston, and other family and friends. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 12, 2021, with chapel service starting at 1 p.m. at HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora. Final celebration has been gently placed in the hands of House of Jackson Memorial Chapel, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, Karl Jackson, funeral director, 724-379-5420.
