Edward Duane Pearce, 81, of Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Born in Monessen, on Jan. 5, 1940, he was the son of the late William J. and Ethel Walker Pearce. Ed was an active member of St. Sebastian Church in Belle Vernon. He had worked his entire life with various employers including U.S. Steel Clairton Works, Volkswagen in New Stanton, and retired from Jones Brewing in Smithton. At the time of his death, he was employed by the Belle Vernon Area School District as a van driver. He enjoyed walking, bicycling and going to the gym, but he most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Melanie A. Keller Pearce; sons, Edward C. (Mary) Pearce of Rostraver and Sean P. (Lisa) Pearce of Fayette City; grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua, Damian and Mason Pearce; great-grandson, Avery Pearce; sisters, Shirley Romestan of Burgettstown, Sally Stangroom of Rostraver and Dolores (Ken) Cekus of Monongahela; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant daughters, Janice, Marlene and Christine Pearce; and brothers, Richard and James Pearce. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a blessing service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian Church, 801 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston presiding. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
