Mon Valley residents can help their four-legged friends and sample a variety of food and drinks at the first-ever Mon Valley Paws Food Truck Festival.
The event will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Monessen’s City Park walking track. Proceeds will help Mon Valley Paws, a local nonprofit group that provides assistance to people and nonprofit organizations who specialize in health care and the rescue of animals.
Saturday’s event will feature sandwiches, nachos and lemonade from StrEat Catering, shaved ice and pierogies from Sunny’s, gourmet chili from Revival Chili, fried tortillas and various fillings from Truckin’ Triangles and coffee from Procaffeination.
The event will also include music by DJ Steve, children’s games, a basket raffle, a 50/50 raffle, a photo area with scenery provided by Joseph’s Nursery and Garden Center and a seating area to enjoy the food.
“We talked about it last year, but we hit a glitch,” said Mon Valley Paws President Randy Marino. “This year, we worked through the glitch. We’re hoping for a big turnout. There’s been a lot of sharing on social media.”
