Violet J. Smith – Monongahela

Violet J. Smith, 79, of Monongahela, died Monday, May 31, 2021, in Premier Washington Health Center. She was born Aug. 21, 1941, in Blythedale, the daughter of Addison W. and Allison Stewart George. Violet was a member of CityReach Church in Charleroi and for several years was employed at Cox’s Market in Monongahela in the cleaning capacity. Violet enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales, sitting on her patio watching wildlife, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Dean Smith of Monongahela, and Jeffrey Smith and wife Sara of Royal Oak, Mich.; three grandchildren, Bradley, David and Joseph and his wife Emily Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Smith Jr., who died May 8, 2021; and a brother, Roger George. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2021, with the Rev. Gregg Anders officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
