Thomas J. Savarino – Charleroi

Thomas J. Savarino, 61, of Charleroi, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at his home. Born Sept. 30, 1959, in North Charleroi, he was the son of the late James A. and Elizabeth M. Canigiani Savarino. A resident of Charleroi and formerly Belle Vernon, Tom was Catholic by faith. Tom was retired from RTS Packaging, where he worked as a machinist, then worked as a security guard at the Super Value in New Stanton. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of American Legion Post 22 in Charleroi, was an all-around plumber, electrician, handyman and could fix anything. He is survived by his pride and joy, his son, Joshua Savarino of Monongahela; with his mother, Amy Parnell; brother and sister-in-law, George and Janine Savarino of Belle Vernon; twin sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Tim Weinman of Hunker; brother, Jimmy Savarino of Belle Vernon; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Paul Farrier of Charleroi; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Brennan Ritzer of Ruffs Dale; great friend, Teresa Burgess; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In accordance with state mandates, masks MUST be worn and social distancing must be maintained. Condolences are accepted at the funeral home’s website, www.parzynskifuneralhome.com.
