Ringgold to broadcast graduation

Ringgold High School’s upcoming graduation will be broadcast on the district’s website, and officials hope to allow more people inside the ceremony as COVID-19 restrictions continue to lessen.

When asked at last week’s school board meeting if the June 8 ceremony will be available to view by those not able to attend, Superintendent Randall Skrinjorich said the district plans to livestream the event at 7 p.m. as well as digitally record the ceremony to be re-broadcast on the district’s website.

A link will be available on the district’s website that will take viewers to the live-stream.

Skrinjorich said with more of the state’s COVID-19 restrictions lifted last week, the district will investigate the opportunity to allow more people into the graduation ceremony at Joe Montana stadium.

On May 17, Gov. Tom Wolf increased event and gathering maximum occupancy limits to 50% for indoor events and gatherings and 75% for outdoor events and gatherings.

This update will not prevent municipalities, school districts, restaurants and venues from continuing and implementing their own mitigation efforts. Based on current CDC guidance, social distancing is strongly recommended for municipalities, school districts, restaurants and venues.

Currently, the district will allow six tickets for each family that plans to attend.
