Dorothy Venneri – Rostraver Township
Dorothy Venneri, 81, of Rostraver Township passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021. A daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn Heverly Pfeiffer, she was born in Homestead on March 3, 1940. A resident of Rostraver Township most of her adult life, Dorothy enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening with her late husband, Lewis. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and would do anything for her family. Dorothy had been employed at the Westinghouse Plant in Churchill for several years prior to her marriage and later worked for 10 years for McShane Florist, retiring in the mid-1990s. Survivors include a daughter, LuAnne Venneri, with whom she made her home; a son and daughter in-law, Matthew A. and Lisa Venneri of Monessen; two brothers, James (Janet) Pfeiffer of Delmont and Wayne (Penny) Pfeiffer of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Abigail Venneri, Brianne Venneri and Blake Anobile; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis A. Venneri, whom she married in 1964, and who passed away on Aug. 19, 2018; a son, David Venneri, who died on Sept. 12, 2020; and a brother, Kenneth Pfeiffer, who passed in 1994.
