Anthony P. McGrew, 75, of Houston, Pa., died Saturday, May 15, 2021. He was born Monday, Aug. 6, 1945, in McKeesport, son of the late Anthony Medvidovich and Grace Troise Medvidovich McGrew. Mr. McGrew was an earth science professor at California University of Pennsylvania and an avid supporter of Cal U athletics and everything Cal U. Tony was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Harold McGrew. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, Kathleen McGrew of Houston, Pa.; daughter, Melanie McGrew; sisters, Joyce Bucy of West Elizabeth, and Phyllis and Thomas Martino of McKeesport; brothers, Robert McGrew of Harwinton, Conn., and Ken McGrew (Sandy Scott) of West Mifflin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021, and until 11 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021, when funeral services will be held in the funeral home with Father James Bump officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Anthony P. McGrew Endowed Scholarship c/o California University of PA, 250 University Ave., California, PA 15419.
