Virginia Kuvinka – Monessen

Virginia Kuvinka, 84, of Monessen, died Friday, May 14, 2021, in UPMC Family Hospice Pittsburgh. She was born on Feb. 28, 1937, in North Charleroi, daughter of the late David and Ruth Jenkins Johns. Virginia grew up in North Charleroi and was a 1955 graduate of Charleroi High School. She had worked as a hostess for Hoss’s Steak and Sea House Restaurant in Belle Vernon. Virginia was an avid card player and enjoyed playing with her friends at card club. She also loved to travel with her late husband Mike. Virginia was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Michael Kuvinka Jr.; infant daughter and infant son, Dawn and David Kuvinka; and by a brother, William Johns. She is survived by her son, Michael (Betty) Kuvinka III of Woodbury, N.J.; two daughters, Laura Ann Kuvinka of Greensburg, and Kathee Kuvinka of Pittsburgh; a granddaughter, Michelle (Corey) Daigle of Charlotte, N.C.; a grandson, Michael Kuvinka IV of Jacksonville, N.C.; and by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. at 10 a.m. Monday, at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, in the funeral home with Pastor Sandy Fitzgibbons officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
