George Charles Holben – New Eagle

George Charles Holben, 78, of New Eagle, died Thursday, May 13, 2021, in Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. He was born Aug. 28, 1942, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late George and Emma Kostick Holben. George was a graduate of Mon Valley Catholic High School, Class of 1960 and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela. He retired from Power Piping in Donora and also owned and operated G&D Window Washing for over 10 years. He was a member of the Dallas Masonic Lodge No. 231 in Pittsburgh. George enjoyed cutting grass with his tractor, fishing, boating and riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie and her husband Daniel Fine of New Eagle; grandson, Ryan Fine; granddaughter, Amber and her husband Collin Maxwell; great-grandchildren, Alaina and Addison Maxwell; sister, Delores Mattes of Pittsburgh; nephews, Lance and his wife Judy Mattes and their daughter Ashley, Michael Onesko and Louie Wall; nieces, Brandie Miller and her children Jesse and Becca, and Aimee McCloy; and his former wife, Wanda Williams. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2021, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Committal services and interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela. The Dallas Lodge 231 will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Guests are asked to please wear masks and obey social distancing guidelines in the funeral home in order to be in compliant with COVID-19 restrictions.
