Carole M. Brooks – Monongahela

Carole M. Brooks, 85, of Monongahela, died Saturday, May 8, 2021, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born Sept. 21, 1935, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Audrey R. Toia Ullman. Carole enjoyed playing bingo, cards and spending time in the evenings doing her puzzle books. Along with her late husband, Cliff, they owned and operated for many years three Open Pantry convenience stores in the South Hills until his passing in 1986. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert and Tina Brooks of Monongahela and James Brooks of Millvale; two daughters, Cathy (Jack) Harkins of Greensburg and Lorna Brooks of New Castle; a sister, Virginia Marak of Zelienople; a grandson, Greye Brooks and fiancée Rachael Thomas; two granddaughters, Becca (Michael) Mohr and Kasie Brooks and fiancé Eric Johnston Sr.; a great-grandson, Eric Johnston Jr.; along with several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Clifford E. Brooks Sr.; a son, Clifford E. Brooks Jr.; and three brothers. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at which time a service will begin with Pastor Michael Cheechuck officiating. Interment will be private and held in Jefferson Memorial Park. Those who are unable to attend the visitation are encouraged to sign the online guestbook at marshallmarrafuneralhome.com.
