Frazier’s Rylee Evans had a senior day she’ll never forget Thursday.
The St. Francis recruit had one of the best games of her career as she slugged her way to a 3 for 4 finish with a pair of doubles and the grand slam that ended a 17-0 rout of visiting California at Commodore Park in Perryopolis. She finished with six RBIs.
“This is right up there as one of my best games ever,” Evans said. “I couldn’t think of a better senior day. I love playing on this field, I love being here with my teammates. It’s just an awesome feeling.”
The Commodores, who hadn’t played in eight days, got big performances from sophomore catcher Jensyn Hartman and their other senior Skylar Hone.
Hartman crushed a homer in the bottom of the first inning, ripped a two-run double in the second inning and had an RBI single in the fourth. She finished 3 for 4 with four RBIs.
“Not playing for so long, I was a little worried,” Frazier coach Don Hartman said. “But we’ve been preaching a patient approach at the plate and being selective. I thought we were really disciplined at the plate. It’s really great to see it carry over from the cage to the game.”
