Robert Francis Petty – Stockdale

Robert Francis Petty, 82, of Stockdale, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Born on April 26, 1939, in Monessen he was a son of the the late Frank J. and Mary Veronica Petty. After his schooling, he enlisted into the U.S. Army National Guard. Bob retired from the Pittsburgh State Penitentiary where he worked as a guard. He was a life member of 51 years at the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department No. 17, where he called bingo and served as the secretary for several years. Bob was an avid golfer for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Francie Lee Rudy of Bealeton, Va.; two granddaughters, Victoria (Allen) Graves and Samantha Jo Rudy, both of Bealeton, Va.; one great-grandson, who was his “Buddy Boy,” Aiden Joseph Graves of Bealeton Va.; and his sister, Mary (Robert) Popella of Rostraver. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth Ann O’Savage Petty; two daughters, Annette Marie Petty and Deborah Ann Petty; and brother, Frank J. Petty Jr. Private burial in Howe Cemetery, Long Branch. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC. Roscoe. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department.
