William E. ‘Bill’ Zeka – Connellsville

William E. “Bill” Zeka, 90, of Connellsville, died Saturday, April 24, 2021, at his residence. He was born Jan. 28, 1931, in Vanderbilt, son of the late John Zeka and the late Mary Mehoke Zeka Levering. Bill was a 1949 graduate of the former Dunbar Township High School. He worked as a self-employed truck driver and with Davison Sand and Gravel. He was a former member of the Fayette EMS board of directors and a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Helen Rathway Zeka, whom he would have been married to for 68 years on May 9, 2021; two half-sisters, Marlene McCallum of Colorado and Marilyn Plonka of Alabama; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Steve Levering; sister, Joan Slominsky; and brother, James Zeka. Per Bill’s wishes, there will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Daniel Carr as celebrant.
