Paul S. Moats, 87, of Fallowfield Township, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 24, 2021, with his family by his side. Born on June 3, 1933, in Newell, Paul is the son of the late Sevester “Wes” and Mary Hutchison Moates. Paul was a former Boy Scouts of America leader and took great pride in mentoring younger scouts for many years, a member of the Buck Skinners and enjoyed attending the annual Scenery Hill National Pike Festival. Paul could often be found sitting on his five-gallon bucket working on someone’s lawn mower. Paul is survived by his children, Deanna Sullenberger and husband Robert of Fallowfield Township, Paula Matthews and husband Raymond of North Charleroi, Paul M. Moats and wife Renee of Camp Hill, Pa., and Vincent Moats of Fallowfield Township; three sisters, Mary Kay Karcesky, Virginia Matty and Thelma (Benjamin) Yates; seven grandchildren, Drew and Cole Matthews, Danny and Joshua Sullenberger, and Cassandra, Vanessa and Zachary Moats; sister-in-law, Donna Moats; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia Ellison Moats; and two brothers, Melvin and James Moats. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., where funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, April 29, 2021, with Pastor Jeff Marton officiating.
