Helen Dubrovich Bellan – Belle Vernon

Helen Dubrovich Bellan, 93, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2021, at Mon Valley Care Center, Monongahela. A daughter of the late John and Anna Vancikova Dubrovich, she was born in Struthers, Ohio, on March 21, 1928. Her family moved to Fairhope shortly after her birth. After her marriage to John Bellan in 1949, she resided in Charleroi, moving back to Belle Vernon in 1994 after her husband’s death. Helen was Catholic by faith. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Helen was employed by Corning Glass (Class of 1945). She was one of the honorees recognized by Corning Incorporated this year for 75 combined years of active and retired service. She was recognized for her contributions made to this company and through her service, helped create the foundation for the Corning of today. Helen was a wonderful baker and loved to cook. She enjoyed preparing meals and baked goods for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling to casinos. She is survived by several nephews and nieces, Norm (Terri) Gaul of Rostraver Township, Joseph (Drena) Dubrovich of Dillsburg, Susan Meadway of Belle Vernon, Marilyn Bradley of Belle Vernon, Andrew J. (Lisa) Zilka of Laurel, Md., and Judy (J. Thomas) Plavko of Speers. She has several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bellan of Charleroi; her sister, Elma Gaul; her brothers, Joseph Dubrovich and John Dubrovich; and her nephew, Rick Gaul.
