Charles E. ‘Sunshine’ Husenits – Stockdale

Charles E. “Sunshine” Husenits, 85, of Stockdale, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021. He was born in Allenport on June 13, 1935, son of the late John and Ella Bender Husenits. Charles was retired from the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport. He was a member of the California Hill Gun Club, where he especially enjoyed the camaraderie with his fellow members. He was a life member of the Roscoe Slovak Club, Allenport Rod and Gun Club, Roscoe Sportsmen’s Association, American Legion Post 801 in Roscoe and the National Pike Steam, Gas and Horse Association. Charles was an avid hunter, fisherman, trap shooter and target shooter, for which he was presented an award for his marksmanship. He will be remembered for his sociality, love of life, his smile, his caring, generosity and gentle nature. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an all-around fun and loving man. Charles is survived by two sisters, Lillian Feldman and Anna Axton; brother, Michael (Kimberly) Husenits; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia Petix Husenits; four brothers, William, John, George and Joseph Husenits; and two sisters, Julia Hough and Mary Husenits. Per Charles’ wishes there will be no visitation. Arrangements were entrusted to MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC., Roscoe. Online condolences may be expressed at www.melenyzer.com.
