Joseph ‘Joe’ Flint – Tularosa, N.M., formerly of Monongahela

Joseph “Joe” Flint, 85, of Tularosa, N.M., formerly of Monongahela, died April 8, 2021. Joe was born Dec. 11, 1935, and graduated from Monongahela High School, Class of 1952. After school, Joe served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps. When he was honorably discharged, he went to work for the Valley Independent newspaper in the 1960s as a sports writer. He then got a job opportunity with the steel mills in the state of Indiana. He took up several side jobs while he lived there, as a bartender and at the Porter County Sheriff’s Department. Joe loved all sports. After retiring from the steel mills, Joe moved to New Mexico, where he was involved in his church, including missionary work in Russia. He is survived by his wife, Diana; three children, Joe (Cindy), Joanne (Ken) and Jerry (Lisa) Flint; his brother, Daniel “Babo” Flint; and many family and friends. He will be laid to rest in New Mexico and services will be held at his house in Tularosa on Saturday, April 24.
