Helen Marcella Burgess, 79, of North Charleroi, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2021, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. The daughter of the late Sue Yonash Newman, Helen was born on July 7, 1941, in Charleroi. Helen lived life to the fullest; she owned JB’s Pub with her husband, John Clyde Burgess, enjoyed her free time at the casino, playing her daily lottery numbers and scratch-off tickets, at bingo with her friends, her love for football, cooking and baking. but most importantly, spending time with her family. Helen is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Charles) Weaver, Lori Burgess and Roxane Burgess; her brother, Marion Newman; her grandchildren, Ken Miller, Richard (Nycole) Burgess Jr., Mat (Nikki) Burgess, Brian Burgess and Eric Burgess; great-grandchildren, Gianna, Aubree, Ross and one more great-grandson on the way; and daughter-in-law, Carol Burgess. In addition to her mother, Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Clyde Burgess; son, Richard Burgess Sr.; and her grandson, John Miller.Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021, at SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, in the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Fetty officiating. Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park.
