Cheryl Marie Tomlinson, 72, of Monongahela, died Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born March 11, 1949, in North Charleroi, daughter of the late Jane E. Tomlinson. Cheryl was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Monongahela. She formerly worked at Ames Department Store in Bethel Park until its closing and retired from Walmart in Belle Vernon. Cheryl was an amazing cook and baker. There wasn’t a Christmas cookie that she didn’t make! She enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables, and was known for her wonderful tomatoes. Cheryl was extremely family oriented, had a love for children and was a passionate Penguins and Steelers fan. She is survived by her cousins, Gloria Lucza of Monongahela, Tom and Donald Flower of Rostraver Township, Karen Ferencz of North Carolina, Darla Newman of Speers, Patty Furiga and Kathy Brady and family. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021, and from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021, with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. In order to be compliant with our state guidelines concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, masks MUST be worn and social distancing maintained.
