People who walk inside any building on the Charleroi Area School District campus next year will be able to breathe a bit easier thanks to a multi-million dollar investment.
During Tuesday’s school board meeting, Superintendent Dr. Ed Zelich updated board members on the progress of a $7 million project to address indoor air quality within district buildings.
The project, handled by AMB Building & Energy Solutions, will revamp the roofs, water systems and air quality systems in the school district.
Work started about two months ago in response to ongoing safety concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the administration hopes it will wrap up before the beginning of the 2021-22 school year.
“This project will address every room,” Zelich said. “The science behind this technology is simply incredible. The air our staff, students and anyone who visits our district will be breathing is state of the art.”
