Councilman George Pambacas is expected to talk about White Oak’s annual spring clean-up day at tonight’s meeting.

The event is slated for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, and borough residents are encouraged to participate.

Volunteers and groups will meet at Heritage Hill Park’s pavilion at 9:30 a.m. to receive assignments of portions of the borough where clean-ups are taking place. Their goal is to remove litter and debris from roadsides, to increase public awareness about the issues littering causes and to show pride in the borough, according to a flier for the event.

The park is located on Victoria Drive.

Each group will be led by several adult group leaders, and each volunteer will be issued safety clothing. First responders in the borough will travel with groups to ensure safety.

As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and mask wearing will be required.

In a post on the borough website from Pambacas, who chairs the Health, Environment and Cable Committee, he states that local group enthusiasm has made past clean-up days successful.
