By obits

Linda J. McBurnie McNaney, 52, of Charleroi and formerly West Newton, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, in Washington Hospital with her family by her side. The daughter of Darlene McBurnie and the late Richard McBurnie, Linda was born in Coal Center on Jan. 14, 1969. She and her siblings accumulated many stories growing up together. The family is enjoying telling these stories to each other right now. Linda graduated from California High School and then Robert Morris Business School. She spent some time working in offices and as a medical assistant, but she spent many years investing in her family and raising her sons. She loved the color purple, “Little House on the Prairie” and reading as many books as she could get her hands on. She was always interested in the lives of the people she cared about and showed her love by being fiercely protective of her family. Linda is survived by her mother and best friend, Darlene Spinner McBurnie; her brothers, Tim S. (Lori) McBurnie of Ohio, Richard J. McBurnie of Charleroi and Dan A. McBurnie of Charleroi; her sons, Christopher R. (Samantha) McNaney, Colton A. (Ashley) McNaney and Chase M. McNaney; as well as her nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her sister, Airman Terri McBurnie Suchy; and her sons, Cody and Patrick McNaney. Friends and family will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021, at the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Pa.,15022. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Christopher McNaney officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.schrock-hogan.com.
