Three independent Giant Eagle stores, including two in the Mon Valley, have been sold to the company.
Earlier this week, shoppers learned the stores in Carroll Township, Union Township and Uniontown owned by Archie Allridge will soon close and reopen under the ownership of the O’Hara Township-based company.
When contacted for comment, Allridge confirmed the sale, but declined further comment.
A sign posted at the store on Route 88 in the Fisher Heights section of Carroll Township said the store will close at 6 p.m. Saturday to begin the “transition process.”
It will reopen 7 a.m. Sunday.
