Robb Acklin enters his fourth season at the helm for Frazier track & field with a goal of four team victories from both his boys’ and girls’ teams.

The Commodores have 17 boys and 15 girls on their roster and will compete in Section 8-AA with Geibel Catholic, Greensburg Central Catholic, Monessen, Mount Pleasant, Serra Catholic, Southmoreland and Yough.

Acklin isn’t certain if there is an odds-on-favorite in the race for the section championship, but there are several programs that are always a threat.

“It is hard to say because I think that all numbers are down this season, but GCC and Southmoreland are always tough,” Acklin said. “This is also our first season with Yough in the section. We hope to have four team wins from both the boys’ and girls’ teams, and it is always a challenge to beat the bigger schools.”
