In celebration of Earth Day, which is April 22, Noble Environmental has announced a series of Green Gifts it has awarded to causes in the Mon Valley and around Western Pennsylvania.

The environmental services company announced it has awarded $100,000 in Green Gifts to 12 organizations that are taking steps through projects and initiatives to achieve economic or environmental sustainability, as well as “human” and “social” sustainability.

The projects are focused on topics such as health, education, services, nutrition skills, equality, rights, culture, diversity, advocacy and the sharing of ideas, as well as growing local communities and improving the standard of living, and reducing human impact on natural resources.

“We thought it was extremely important to support projects in our community that are focused on sustainability and led by organizations who value innovation the same way we do,” said Alex Sulkowski, co-founder of Noble Environmental.

“At Noble, we want to be an example of excellent corporate citizenship,” co-founder Rich Walton added. “Congratulations to all the winners; we can’t wait to see the outcomes of your projects.”
