By obits

Charlotte M. Brown, 83, of Fayette City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 2, 2021, in UPMC Mercy Hospital. A daughter of the late John S. and Dorethea Rudolph Lindey, she was born on Nov. 29, 1937, in Fayette City. A lifelong resident of Fayette City, she was a member of the Fayette City Alliance Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joni and Daniel Powell of Perryopolis; a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Wendy Brown of Fayette City; three grandchildren, Jennifer Denitti of Perryopolis, Leigh Ann Smith of Newell and Jessica Anne Brown of Pittsburgh; and two great-grandchildren, Lucas Denitti and Charlotte Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell L. Brown, in 2005; and two brothers, Louis Kenneth Lindey of Fayette City and John William Lindey of Delmont. Loved by family and friends, Charlotte was endeared to many she met through her work as a long-time cashier at Kroger supermarket, paramedic with Community Ambulance Service, staff in the office of House of Representatives member James Mandarino, running the Fayette City food bank, tax collector for Fayette City borough and various church ministries: teaching Sunday school and Bible study classes, serving as deaconess and many more. Her faith was strong, and she lived it throughout her life in both word and deed. We will miss her. A memorial service will be held at Fayette City Alliance Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021, with Pastor Christian Jacobs officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
