James John Palcsey, 43, of Dravosburg, died on Thursday, April 1, 2021. He was born in McKeesport on June 5, 1977 and is the son of John Raymond and Dolores “Jean” Jackson Palcsey of Dravosburg. James was a third-generation firefighter and life member of Dravosburg Volunteer Fire Department No. 1, where he served as vice president for many years. He also served on the board of control for Western Pennsylvania Firemen’s Association. He was a proud 1995 graduate of Serra Catholic High School. He was an avid “Star Wars,” Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins and Steelers fan. His welcoming spirit, gentle voice, and sincere kindness will be sorely missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Michael (Stacy) Palcsey of Dravosburg; nephews, John “JP,” Joseph and Nicholas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and fellow firefighters. A gathering will be held Monday, April 5, 2021, at STRIFFLERS OF DRAVOSBURG/WEST MIFFLIN, 740 Pittsburgh-McKeesport Blvd., Dravosburg, PA 15034, 412-678-6192, from 4 to 7 p.m., when the fire department will conduct services. Friends are welcome to visit with the family until 8 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend the Mass of Christian burial at Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church, 2515 Versailles Ave., McKeesport, PA 15132, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery. Please continue to pray for the repose of his soul. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to Dravosburg VFD No. 1 in Jim’s memory. You served well, brother; we can take it from here.
