Barbara A. ‘Barbie’ Kroskie – Belle Vernon

Barbara A. “Barbie” Kroskie, 39, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of Walt A. Kroskie and Debra Repasky Kroskie, both of Belle Vernon, she was born in Greensburg on July 12, 1981. Barbie was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, James Franklin DeShields and Connor Michael DeShields, both at home; a brother and sister-in-law, Walt and Kim Kroskie of Rostraver; maternal grandmother, Barbara A. Reid of Lockhart, Texas; paternal grandfather, Walter “Wudge” Kroskie of Belle Vernon; uncles, Mark Repasky and John James Repasky, both of Carroll Township, James Kroskie of Florida and Michael Kroskie of Virginia; and aunts, Toni Ann Zanardelli of Florida, Marsha Black of Roscoe and Kim Palfrey of Virginia. She will also be missed by her boyfriend. Barbie was preceded in death by her husband, Mark DeShields; an aunt, Linda Fear; maternal grandfather, Vernon Reid; and paternal grandmother, Toni Ann Kroskie. Friends will be received from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. with Pastor Sandy Fitzgibbons officiating.
