Janet George – Murrysville

By obits

Janet George, 72, of Murrysville, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021, following an in-home accident. She was born March 23, 1949, in Monessen, to the late James and Toni Suppa. Janet was a graduate of Monessen High School and California University of Pennsylvania. Janet was happiest when with her family, especially during “Grammy Jammy Night” with her two grandsons. Her generosity and warmth were unmatched, and those closest to her know that an overstuffed bag full of surprises and a string of compliments were the clearest statements of love she could express. She loved sunshine and warm weather — dreaming of the beach while lounging by the pool. Janet’s unique brand of creative optimism always offered a new perspective, and her nurturing nature always made her a safe place for loved ones. Janet enjoyed going to church and was a member of Mother of Sorrows Parish in Murrysville. She also took pleasure in cooking and baking, especially her “Italian Love Cake.” She was preceded in death by her daughter, Robyn George, whom she missed every day. Janet is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert George; a sister, Mary Jo (Ronald) Panepinto of Monessen; a son, Ryan and daughter-in-love Krista George of Apollo; and two grandsons, Ruxin and Kazden George, who affectionately called her “Giggy.” The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at UPMC hospital for their care and thoughtfulness during this very difficult time. Arrangements are being handled by DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Reed Ave., Monessen. A private service was held for close family only due to current health concerns. She was entombed in Belle Vernon Cemetery Mausoleum. Condolences accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
