Dino DiBasilio – Formerly of Monongahela

By obits

Dino DiBasilio, 82, died peacefully in his sleep on Feb. 12, 2021, at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Dino was born on Sept. 27, 1938, in Monongahela, son of Raniero DiBasilio and Maria Scotti. Dino is the last of the nine DiBasilio siblings — he had five brothers and three sisters. Dino proudly served in the U.S. Army, beginning on Sept. 19, 1960, and was stationed in Germany until his honorable discharge on Aug. 13, 1963. Dino spent 40-plus years of his life in Los Angeles, Calif., working as a Rate Clerk for the Southern Pacific Railroad. Dino then retired to Spanish Fork, Utah, for a couple of years before returning to his roots. Dino finally came back to Pittsburgh in 2003 to be close to his family. He worked part-time at a convenience store, volunteered at the election polls and volunteered at Meals on Wheels as a driver in Peters Township. At 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2021, we have scheduled a memorial service along with the National Guard at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, located at 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dino’s life.
