William Lloyd Byers – Rostraver Township

William Lloyd Byers, 83, of Rostraver Township, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Born in Rostraver Township on Oct. 18, 1937, he was the son of the late John A. and Dorothy F. Curnow Byers. Lloyd was a heavy equipment operator for Local No. 66 Operating Engineers. He attended Journey By Grace Church in Rostraver and the former Webster Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Lloyd loved traveling with his family, his Farmall Tractors and western History. He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Richter Byers; sons, David (Tamara Lynn) Byers of Streetsboro, Ohio and James Robert (Cecelia) Byers; grandsons, Matthew Thomas Byers and Michael William Byers; and brother, John Leslie Byers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harry J. Byers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 26, at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27 with Pastor William Bailey officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Mill Grove Cemetery. Everyone attending the visitation and services must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
