John B. Gray – Roscoe

By obits

John B. Gray, 82, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2021, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. He was the son of John and Helen Bilitski Gray of Elco. John worked various jobs to support his family and was employed for 20 years as a custodian at California University of Pennsylvania. John was well known on the craft show and festival circuit selling hand-designed clothing apparel. John was an avid Pittsburgh and Cal U sports fan, who loved his grandchildren and watching them participate in activities. John enjoyed talking with his lifelong friend Jack McKay and attending gatherings with his Cal U work friends. He always had a smile and a joke for everyone, and his quick, witty humor will be missed! John was preceded in death by his parents John and Helen; and his two brothers-in-law, Rudy Schmidt and Luther Sheets. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sandy, whom he adored; and his children: Russell J. Gray, of Stow, Ohio, Brian Konick of Jefferson Hills, Kelly Zajicek (Dana) of Allenport, and Kristen Bucar of California, Pa.; a sister, Barbara Sheets of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a brother, Joe Gray of Elco; grandchildren, Cameron, Colby, Danielle, Casey, Grace, Jack; and great-grandson, Brayden Bucar. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Mary Wilkinson, who helped with his care. As per John’s request, services will be private. Condolences can be sent to Sandy Gray, 504 Furlong Ave., Box 54, Roscoe, PA 15477. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, PA 15419.
