Roger A. Smith, 69, of Fallowfield Township, died Friday, March 19, 2021, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 1, 1951, in Charleroi, he was the son of the late J. Richard and Julia Blasko Smith. After his graduation from Charleroi High School in 1969, he served in the U.S. Air Force. In 2005, he retired from the Koppers Industries division of Clairton Mill and was currently working for Roadrunner Services in Washington, Pa. Catholic by faith, Roger enjoyed playing golf and was a member of American Legion Post 949 in Carroll Township, the Hoot Owl Club, Haymakers Club in New Eagle and the Charleroi Elks, and he always looked forward to playing euchre on Friday nights with his friends. Surviving are his wife, Marsha Majoris Smith, whom he married July 31, 1976; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Ashley Smith of Lake Wylie, S.C.; a brother, Ronald Smith of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Jacob and Harper Smith; a sister-in-law, Danielle Smith of Apple Valley, Calif.; and nieces and nephews, Jodi and Norm DiCenzo and Johnny Abbott and Brittany Taylor, all of Virginia. Preceding him in death was his brother, David Smith. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
