Florence Balog Ocilka Sullivan – Elizabeth Township

Florence Balog Ocilka Sullivan, 88, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Paramount Senior Living South Hills. She retired as a production line worker for General Motors Fisher Body in West Mifflin. She was a member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Township and was active with local senior citizen groups. Born Jan. 1, 1933, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late John and Susan Lucas Balog. She is survived by her husband, Roderick P. Sullivan; sons, George (Cynthia) Ocilka of Boiling Springs, S.C., David (Lynn) Ocilka of Chester Springs and John (Angie) Ocilka of Elizabeth Township; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Stash of Waynesburg; along with nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George E. Ocilka; and sister, Carol Heck. Friends will be received at PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 N. Second Ave., Elizabeth, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021. In order to comply with COVID-19 restrictions, guests are required to wear masks and follow CDC social distancing guidelines. You may be asked to limit your visiting time so that all guests will have an opportunity to pay their respects. The family would like to express their understanding to those who are unable to attend due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church with the Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
