Edward Paul Grayden Hough – Monessen

Edward Paul Grayden Hough, 59, of Monessen, died Monday, March 15, 2021, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born July 10, 1961, in New Eagle, the son of the late Willard “Joe” and June P. Hoffman Hough. Ed attended Charleroi High School and obtained an associate degree from Westmoreland County Community College, where he studied nutrition, dietetics and food management. He was employed at various nursing homes, where he was the dietary director and also cooked at several local establishments throughout the Mon Valley. Ed’s passions were spending time with his grandchildren and cooking. There was nothing more important to Ed than his family. He is survived by two sons, Drew Hough and wife Shannon Laitinen of Fayette City, Broc Hough and wife Tiffany of Dawson; five grandchildren, Landon, Blake, Hailey, Brielle and Liam Hough; two brothers, Raymond Mertz and wife Brenda of Newark, Ohio, David Mertz of Donora; five sisters, Patty Hough-Leone and husband John of Belle Vernon, JoAnn Jones and husband James of Roseland, Fla., Sherry Buckholz and husband Lou of Bunola, Oleda Mikels and husband Ermin of Charleroi, Lee Ann Patton and husband Jeff of Charleroi; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Debra Mertz; brother-in-law, George W. Hough; and nephew, George W. Hough II. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2021, in the FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Cochran officiating. In order to be compliant with our state guidelines concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, masks MUST be worn and social distancing maintained.
