Jack W. Miller – Arden Court, Jefferson Hills

By obits

Jack W. Miller, 80, of Arden Court, Jefferson Hills, lost his battle with Alzheimer’s disease on March 11, 2021. He was born in Detroit, Mich., the son of C. Ward and Helen Miller. On Dec. 8, 1979, he married his wife, Carol. Jack and his wife spent most of their working life in the Detroit area and both had successful careers in the auto industry. Jack served his country in the Detroit National Guard. Upon retirement, they moved to Lake Worth, Fla., and lived a life of leisure while also traveling extensively. As he declined, his wife Carol and his sister-in-law Susan Virden managed his care. Unfortunately, Carol preceded him in death and he moved to Belle Vernon to reside with his cousin John and his wife. His memory continued to decline and he became a resident of Arden Court, a memory care center. Jack was a member of the Palm Beach Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, Tri County Lodge 638, F.&A.M., Valley of Pittsburgh, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and Syria Shriners. He was a generous contributor to their several charities. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife, Carol Strong Miller; and is survived by first cousins, John A. Habel Jr. (Ruth) of Belle Vernon, James G. Habel (Karen) of Whitehall and Carol B. Lucenti of Meyersdale. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Arden Court and Amedisys Hospice Care for the love and care they gave to Jack. He will be interred with his wife Carol in Highland Cemetery in Garrett, Pa. All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by RHOME FUNERAL HOME, Monessen.
